Standards
The use of standards, as well as their correct application is an economic factor that should not be underestimated. Norms and standards create efficiency in development and production processes and ensure consistent and comparable product quality. In addition, standards provide security and an easy reuse. Nowadays, many branches and sectors of industry are increasingly relying on standards to increase efficiency. This provides manufacturers with advantages in the form of a shorter time-to-market and considerable cost optimization.
The standards are developed and promoted by standardization institutions (CiA, ISO, SAE, …) or by associations of certain interest groups (AEF, ASAM, …). Right from the start, Sontheim focused on standards and their use in our products and systems, be it in the field of fieldbus technology, various protocols and data descriptions or in the area of our programming interfaces. Through our membership in various associations and standardization committees, we actively define standards in our areas and pass this knowledge directly on to our customers.
